Dave Smith Decoys Posturing Buck Decoy
When a mature buck sees another buck on his turf during the rut, he usually comes to settle it. The Dave Smith Posturing Buck is built to start that fight. The ears are pinned back and the body is set in an aggressive pose, the look of a buck spoiling for a fight, so a dominant deer reads it as a challenge from across the field.
Dave Smith decoys are known for lifelike sculpting and paint, and this one is no exception. It’s molded from A.C.E. 2.0 (Advanced Crosslink Elastomer), a tough, flexible material made to handle bad weather and rough handling for many seasons.
Setup takes about 10 minutes right out of the box. On soft ground, push it in with the stakes. On hard or frozen ground, use the 24" x 24" metal base. The antlers and ears come off, so you can match the size of the local bucks or run it as a doe.

Tip from the shop: Face the decoy toward your stand, or quartering toward it. A buck that comes in to confront it will usually circle and approach head-on, which sets up a broadside or quartering-away shot.
